BlueTriton Brands donates $2,500 to Chaffee County Quilts of Valor

BlueTriton Brands is a proud supporter of Chaffee County Quilts of Valor in Buena Vista, Colorado. BlueTriton Brands Natural Resource Manager Larry Lawrence presented a $2,500 donation to the non-profit organization in August 2022. Chaffee County Quilts of Valor volunteers began making quilts in 2005. The majority of the quilts are given to the graduates of the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder program at the VA Hospital in Denver, Colorado. When a veteran completes the program, they are presented with a quilt.

BlueTriton Brands, formerly known as Nestlé Waters North America, has supported Chaffee County Quilts of Valor for the past four years. “Our group is very grateful for organizations that donate to our cause. Nestlé was a big supporter and we are so happy BlueTriton is continuing with this,” said Linda Lafford, leader of Chaffee County Quilts of Valor.

The donation covers the fabric and shipping costs.  Twelve to 15 volunteers sew and make the quilts, which takes three months to complete. To date, more than 1,200 quilts have been given to veterans. “We all love doing this, it has become our passion,” Lafford said.
