BlueTriton Brands employees give back with The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program
The holiday season is a time for giving! BlueTriton Brands employees are getting into the holiday spirit by teaming up with The Salvation Army in Stamford, Connecticut to participate in their Angel Tree Program. The program provides new clothing and toys for children of needy families.
95 Angel tree tags were placed on BlueTriton’s Christmas tree on the lower level near the cafeteria of its Stamford headquarters. Employees picked a tag off the tree which provides information as to the child’s gender, age and a toy/wish item. The unwrapped gifts were placed under the tree with the tag. The gifts were delivered to The Salvation Army in Stamford so they can distribute to the family to place under their family Christmas tree.
“When local companies step up to ease the burden on working families felt by inflation, raising food, and gas prices by providing toys, coats and more importantly, hope that they are not forgotten. The beauty of this time of year is manifested by these acts of generosity and kindness,” said Major Myron Smith, The Salvation Army.
Some BlueTriton Brands employees jumped at the chance to support the cause. “It’s an amazing opportunity to bring joy to those in need during the holiday season and to have a positive impact in the communities we serve,” said Robert Austin, President, Ready Refresh, BlueTriton Brands.
“I believe every child should have the opportunity to experience the joy of the holiday season by getting something special to open. This was a great opportunity to show how fiercely good BlueTriton Brands can be when we all collectively come together,” said Joseph Walko, Sr. Director, Corporate Functions, BlueTriton Brands.
The Salvation Army Angel Tree program provides Christmas gifts for hundreds of thousands of children throughout the United States and Canada each year.
