BlueTriton Brands team participates in 9/11 Day organization Day of Service
In recognition of September 11th, 25 members of our BlueTriton Brands team ventured to New York City to pack meals in partnership with the 9/11 Day organization. This year, the meals packed were delivered to food banks affiliated with Feeding America, an organization that BlueTriton has proudly partnered with for several years.
The 9/11 Day of Service is aimed to transform the anniversary of 9/11 into a meaningful day of kindness and giving back to their communities.
“We believe in making a positive impact when and where it matters most, and there’s no better way to do than volunteering together as a team,” said Hector Ruiz, Regional Vice President, Northeast with BlueTriton Brands. “This meal packing event was an amazing opportunity to do good for our community and spend time with colleagues and so many other like-minded companies who came to make a difference.”
In total, the team packed more than 2,000 meals at the Intrepid Museum in Manhattan.
BlueTriton Brands team members say they were honored to be part of such a significant event.
“I am so proud to work for a company that cares about supporting the communities where we live and work and providing us this precious time to give back in meaningful ways,” said Christie Morris, Head of Talent Acquisition at BlueTriton Brands.
9/11 Day partners with local Feeding America-affiliated food banks in each city where a meal packing event is hosted. The packed meals stay local and by working with affiliates, reaches those most in need. Various businesses and organizations across the United States participated in 9/11 Day packing millions of meals.
