The Coldest Night of the Year is a nationwide event in Canada that raises money for local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness

With temperatures reaching below 8 degrees Celsius or 17 degrees Fahrenheit (not counting the wind chill), BlueTriton Brands employees bundled up in their warmest winter gear to participate in a fundraising walk to support Elora House in Canada. Together with thousands of Canadians across the country, BlueTriton Brands employees walked the 5K route for The Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) event. The walk gave participants the unique opportunity to walk the Grand River Raceway horse racing track in Centre Wellington Ontario, Canada.

The CNOY event raises money for local charities serving people who have been impacted by hurt, homelessness or hunger. The event the BlueTriton Brands team participated in raised money for Elora House, which provides safe housing and support for women and young girls who are victims of sexual exploitation and human trafficking.

“We give these ladies a space that allows for transformation and restoration, for the hope of a life free from modern slavery. Our primary focus is on health and wellness. Our programming offers routine and balance. We allow the residents to stay until we find a safe, stable home for them,” said Shannon Frizzell, Event Director CNOY Elora House.

BlueTriton Brands employees raised $1,850 for the event. The company which is considered a Rest Stop sponsor, which is a level of sponsorship, matched the fundraising effort with a $2,000 donation.

“Being active in our community is important to BlueTriton Brands and our employees. This is our second year participating and supporting Elora House and we are proud to continue to support this amazing place and the wonderful women who run it,” said Jennifer Kerr, Director of Corporate Affairs, BlueTriton Brands.

“BlueTriton has been a generous sponsor of our Coldest Night of the Year event, in support of Elora House for the past two years. The company has been a Rest Stop sponsor and this sponsorship has been essential to helping us reach our goals,” Frizzell said.

More than $63,000 was raised for Elora House at this event. In total, the national event raised more than $12M. 100% of the proceeds stay local to support CNOY charity partners.

BlueTriton Brands employees and their families braved the chilling temperatures for The Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) event.
