BlueTriton Brands employees participate in volunteer event at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp
Fourteen BlueTriton Brands employees recently participated in the Helping Hands Workday at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Ashford, Connecticut, a camp dedicated to providing a “different kind of healing” to seriously ill children and their families. BlueTriton’s employees helped to prepare the camp’s beautiful 300-acre site for the arrival of campers and families for the fall program. With the helpful guidance of dedicated camp staff, the group’s chores included cleaning more than a dozen log cabins where children with serious illnesses and their families spend their nights. They made bunk beds, swept floors, and even cleaned bathrooms. Afterwards, they enjoyed a tasty lunch in the spacious dining room and were treated to a camp tour.
In keeping with the tradition of giving back to communities, BlueTriton’s, Poland Spring® Brand has been a proud, long-term partner of The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp for 17 years. Founded in 1988 by the late actor Paul Newman, the camp serves more than 20,000 children, ages five to 15, and their family members every year – free of charge through a variety of year-round programs offered onsite, in hospitals and clinics, and right in camper homes and communities. At the camp, the kids enjoy a variety of activities including horseback riding, mini-golf, fishing, boating, archery, an indoor theatre and outdoor pool. The camp also serves young adults, ages 16-26 through three other programs.
Andrea Keefe, director of community and corporate partnerships for The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, added “We are so grateful to everyone at Poland Spring for their longstanding support of our children and families. Their friendship, both financially and through employee volunteerism, is critical in helping us bring ‘a different kind of healing’ to those who need it most.”
