400 Pennsylvania Students Show They’re Wild About Water
Wildlands Conservancy and Deer Park® 100% Natural Spring Water partner to host water education festival
More than 400 elementary and middle school students from six Lehigh Valley area schools learned about environmental stewardship and water conservation during the Wild About Water Festival at Emmaus Community Park in Emmaus, Pennsylvania on September 30, 2022.
The students learned about water-related topics as part of the fun and interactive event, which was led by Wildlands Conservancy staff and Deer Park employees. Over 20 Deer Park employees volunteered as instructors, helping the students learn about water, including conservation, watershed protection, recycling, health, and hydration through activities. More than 15 activity stations were set up in the park. Students learned how to test water quality, participated in a water cycle obstacle course, and were introduced to unique wildlife found in the Lehigh River Watershed.
“The Wild About Water Festival is a great opportunity to teach children cool things about water using hands on activities and also the importance of protecting the resource” said Eric Andreus, Natural Resource Manager with Deer Park.
The Wildlands Conservancy and Deer Park® 100% Natural Spring Water have partnered to host the event for about 20 years.
