BlueTriton employees remove trash from Iron Run in Pennsylvania

Almost two dozen BlueTriton Brands employees traded in their hardhats for waterproof boots and gloves to clean up a stream in eastern Pennsylvania.

20 employees picked up debris along a one-and-a-half miles stretch of the Iron Run stream in Lehigh County. Three groups broke out into teams and collected litter from the stream and the surrounding floodplain.

The groups collected old tires, grocery bags, tarps, towels, paper goods and other types of trash. Employees filled dozens of large garbage bags and placed the bags on trucks to be taken to a local landfill or recycling center.

“The trash removed from Iron Run and the adjacent floodplain will result in a cleaner watershed which benefits the ecology and the recreational quality of the stream for the local community” says Eric Andreus, Sr. Natural Resources Manager with BlueTriton, who coordinated the volunteer project.

BlueTriton Brands partnered with Upper Macungie Township, host community for our Deer Park factory, for the cleanup effort.
