Deer Park® donates bottled water to Girls on the Run 5K event

More than 650 girls laced up their running shoes to participate in the Girls on the Run Lehigh Valley Chapter 5K event at the end of May 2023.

Deer Park® Natural Spring Water, which is manufactured by BlueTriton Brands, donated 1,200 bottles of water to the organization’s 3.1 mile run held at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. A Deer Park Natural Spring Water employee helped to hand out bottled water at the finish line. Deer Park was also named a sponsor.

“It sounds simple but the one thing to not have to worry about is bottled water for the finish line,” said Liz Fones, Girls on the Run Executive Director. “It’s such a big deal and a huge help! The people who come across the finish line see the water is being provided by Deer Park. They see the label on the bottle but I’m not sure they understand what a generous partnership it is. We truly appreciate it.”

Girls on the Run is a national organization for girls in grades 3rd through 8th.  It inspires girls of all abilities to recognize their individual strengths, while building a sense of connection in a team setting. Volunteer coaches facilitate lessons that blend physical activity with life skill development to enable girls to adapt to whatever comes their way. At the end of the season, the team completes a 5K together. Crossing the finish line instills confidence through completion and is a joyful moment program participants always remember! Everyone in the program receives a commemorative medal to celebrate this incredible achievement.
