Bond of Brotherz Holds Annual Hydrate our Heroes Event to Stock Ice Mountain® Bottled Water for Area Fire Departments

Ice Mountain® donates two truckloads of bottled water to keep emergency responders hydrated while on duty

Bond of Brotherz is a local nonprofit organization started by husband-and-wife duo John and Cathie Pulley to provide support to veterans, members of military, and first responders. In mid-May, Bond of Brotherz staged Hydrate our Heroes in Mt. Morris, Michigan to supply more than 30 Genesee County and surrounding area fire departments with bottled water for use in keeping crew members hydrated while on duty.

BlueTriton Brands, through its Ice Mountain® 100% Natural Spring Water facility in Michigan, is a major supporter of emergency response organizations and responding to crises where safe drinking water is needed. Ice Mountain donated two truckloads or 60,000 bottles of water to Bond of Brotherz. For more than 20 years, Ice Mountain has contributed to situations where drinking water sources have been compromised from natural disasters, infrastructure problems, and other impacts.

“We admire the passion Bond of Brotherz has for supporting firefighters, police officers, and all of the heroes that work to keep communities safe,” said Arlene Anderson-Vincent, Natural Resource Manager for Ice Mountain. “Being a good neighbor – being there in times of need – comes second nature for us. Bond of Brotherz are truly heroes helping heroes. All of us at Ice Mountain appreciate their dedication. It’s an honor to donate and do our small part. We hope others are inspired by the story of Bond of Brotherz and consider donating to help the public safety people in their communities.”

Fire Marshal Derron Suchodolski is ready to transport cases of Ice Mountain bottled water to the Saginaw Fire Department.

The group’s mission is shared by a growing force of supporters, who recognize the role that first responders play in saving lives and property of others, often putting themselves in grave health and life danger.

Cathie Pulley says those who serve in these important community roles are heroes who deserve all the help Bond of Brotherz can muster.

Scott Kulawiak, owner of General Towing and Recovery on Dort Highway, and a firefighter himself, hosted the event and supplied the space for more than 40 pallets – two semi-truck loads -- of Ice Mountain brand bottled water to be organized for local fire departments and other first response organizations to pickup throughout the day Wednesday.

Pulley said, “We can’t thank Ice Mountain and BlueTriton Brands enough. They’re super generous and continue to be there for us and our firefighters. Severe dehydration is a serious risk for firefighters, so access to bottled water while in the middle of a scene is vital to the health and safety of these men and women as they work.”

Cases of Ice Mountain are ready to be transported to 30 Genesee County fire departments in Michigan. The water is being stocked for use by firefighters while active on emergency calls.
