Midwest
BlueTriton has been a proud environmental steward, community supporter, and local employer in Michigan for over 20 years. We responsibly manage three spring sites and 1,688 acres of watershed land. We also continue to support the Ice Mountain Environmental Stewardship Fund, which was established at the Community Foundation in 2002 by what is now BlueTriton Brands. Ice Mountain Environmental Stewardship Fund grants are made annually to sustain the waters and water-dependent natural resources of the Muskegon River Watershed by supporting conservation, enhancement, and restoration projects. We are proud of 20-years of watershed stewardship in Michigan. You can learn about the value this fund has brought to the Michigan River Watershed here.

Crews remove rock dams from Twin Creek in Evart to restore natural flows and habitat
BlueTriton has studied the Twin Creek area extensively from flow stage, flow depth and aquatic life and have found that the dam structures not only impede the fish movement up stream but are also causing bank erosion and sedimentation problems. MRWA and BlueTriton have been working together for around 10 years to make improvements to the watershed, and the Twin Creek project is a great example of the collaboration between the two organizations.

Ice Mountain® Water Wizards Clean up Michigan’s Muskegon River
August 2023 marked the 12th year of the Muskegon River Trash Bash, an annual family-friendly cleanup event organized by the Muskegon River Watershed Assembly. It is designed to get people of all ages to pitch in to keep the waterways free from debris. Teams from companies, like BlueTriton’s Ice Mountain® and many others, families, and local community groups do their part along designated stretches of the river from its northeastern headwaters near Houghton Lake to where it flows into Lake Michigan.
